Saint Nicholas Day in 100 metres above the ground

On Monday 6th December Saint Nicholas has visited PANORAMAPUNKT to surprise the children supported by Kindeswohl-Berlin.

Kindeswohl-Berlin is an independent, non-profit organisation that supports children and youth in their development by offering caring and supportive group housing for more than 200 young people from 0 to 18 years old and their families. With a history going back to the end of the Second World War in 1945 this is the oldest and largest institution supporting children and youth in the eastern part of Berlin.

The PANORAMAPUNKT has decided to support this project and create an unforgettable Saint Nicholas Day for the children. The contact was established by the Potsdamer Platz Management Gesellschaft, which supports Kindeswohl-Berlin for some time now.

Paul Heinen, Managing Director of the Panorama Punkt GmbH, has invited the children of Kindeswohl-Berlin to welcome Saint Nicholas at PANORAMAPUNKT. Savouring tasteful Christmas cookies, they all enjoyed the breathtaking views of Berlin until…

…at 3 p.m. the unbelievable happened:
our daring Saint Nicholas rappelled down from the top of the Kollhoff Tower and made his way along the glass walls of the PANORAMACAFÉ, 100 metres above the ground! Afterwards he came inside the Café and each child from Kindeswohl-Berlin got a big red bag, filled with treats by companies supporting this event.

We like to say thank you to MEDERER Süßwarenvertriebs GmbH, Suesswaren.com and Winterfeldt Schokoladen for their generous donations.
Furthermore, many thanks to Seilcompagnie GmbH for the fabulous Nicholas as well as Atlantis Sound – Veranstaltungstechnik Multimedia Gebäudetechnik and Mrs Tessner for their support.
